Supersweet Cafe on Lonsdale Street in Braddon offers a quietly charming spot for those seeking a casual coffee break or a light, sweet-inflected meal. It blends a cozy and stylish interior with a mix of Western and Asian-inspired flavors, making it a versatile stop for morning catch-ups or afternoon treats.

The cafe’s vibe leans towards intimate rather than bustling, with indoor seating that encourages lingering over conversation or a book rather than quick grab-and-go visits. While seating is somewhat limited inside, it’s set up thoughtfully to create a pleasant spot for groups of friends or solo visitors looking for a little downtime.

Coffee and specialty drinks here are a key draw, served in quality glassware that adds to the experience. Fans of unique flavors will appreciate options like beetroot lattes, black sesame lattes, and a well-made hot matcha latte with oat milk. The iced lattes and flat whites round out the selection for those who prefer their caffeine straightforward.

The food offerings spread across both sweet and savory realms, with crepe cakes—such as Thai milk tea, watermelon, and strawberry varieties—standing out as delightful highlights. These cakes tend to avoid an overly sweet profile, making them a satisfying accompaniment rather than an overwhelming dessert. On the savory side, dishes like egg benedict, chilli scrambled eggs, brekkie rolls, and chicken rice bowls provide a fuller meal option, suitable for a brunch session or an early lunch. The menu’s mixture of Asian flavors and cafe classics fit well with Braddon’s eclectic and food-curious crowd.

Visitors often come in for the pastries too, including basque cheesecakes, which carry a premium price but are noted for their rich and smooth texture—selling as thoughtful indulgences rather than everyday bites. Portions may feel small for the price, but the balance of flavors tends to win over those who prioritize quality and nuance.

Supersweet Cafe works well for locals who want to catch up with friends in a relaxed but distinctive setting, or for anyone who appreciates a spot where drinks and sweets get a bit of creative attention alongside dependable coffee. It’s probably best visited during quieter weekday mornings or leisurely weekend afternoons when the atmosphere is laid-back, and staff are ready with friendly recommendations.

This is a super cute cafe on Lonsdale Street in Braddon, and the food is super delicious! They have a range from Western to Asian dishes, and they also have a ton of desserts/cakes to choose from. My fave is definitley their crepe cakes which are so pleasant to eat, not too sweet at all! The seating is also really nice to spend time hanging out!

I walked in because the shop looked so cute and eye-catching. The atmosphere inside was lovely, the menu had plenty of options, and the food was delicious! They also offer a variety of delicate pastries to take home, especially the basque Ube flavored ones is my favorite! And the staff were very kind and friendly with their recommendations.

A bit pricey but good coffee. Good selection of basque cheesecakes, except they are all $11 a small slice but they nice. Matcha drinks are a bit small and expensive. Crepe cake was nice too, again a bit expensive at $11. The indoor seating was a bit small but there is enough seats. Service was fast and friendly.

I came here specifically to try the ube cheesecake and it did not disappoint. Rich, smooth and full of flavour, it was the perfect match for a hot drink. At $9.50, I did expect it to be a little larger, especially compared to some of the other ube options on the menu, but the taste definitely made up for it. I also had the black sesame latte, which was unique but surprisingly delicious. Friendly staff and a great location made the visit even better.

Great coffee served in luxury pro grade ACF drink ware which makes the experience very enjoyable. Love their beetroot latte which is light, fruity, creamy and just a little sweet (yes it’s not super sweet). Food is average cafe level but the place is cosy and in a cute and sweet style so it’s good for catching up with friends there. Sweeties are excellent - highly recommend their matcha Basque burnt cheesecake that is solid and crispy outside and soft and creamy in the centre, with strong matcha flavour. Will come back again.

Brunch in Canberra @supersweetcafe where we enjoyed the Fried chicken bowl on rice, and the egg made it quite like an Omurice bowl. My meal with the vegetable salad, with a sweet potato hummus, and I added chicken. The meal was delicious and was served quickly. They also Had amazing pastries and crepe Layer cakes

This Cafe definitely lives up to its name. The drinks were magnificent and the food was unreal! The Pistachio Cheesecake from here is phenomenal. My favourite spot to eat in Canberra hands down.

We had such a great experience at this café! Even though it was quite busy when we arrived, the space never felt overwhelming or too loud. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, they managed to fix us a table didn’t have to wait long. Food The meals were really impressive — well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. Everyone at the table loved their food, and the portion sizes were generous without being too heavy. We ordered Japanese cuisine and they were delicious. However the scrambled eggs were a bit disappointing. Sadly didn’t look or taste like scrambled eggs. Drinks Fresh and delicious. The strawberry matcha was the best And the Dessert— easily the best part of the experience. Absolutely divine! Every dessert was beautifully prepared and it was heavenly!! All in all, a wonderful place for good food and great service. Will definitely be returning soon
